Minutes
Entz
Jamie reported a good profit from the recent bop. They made a revenue of £730. £98 to charity from the charity boptail due to 196 sales. Overall profit was in the £305 region. This profit went to the Entz account.
It was also mentioned that the Sky subscription needs to be sorted out for the TV room - the idea of investing in NOW TV was discussed. It was decided that NOW TV should be researched as a potential cheaper option to the Sky subscription.Â
Pantry Â
It was discussed that pantry isn’t making as much revenue as would be ideal. Ideas were discussed about how to increase income - including potentially raising prices or encouraging freshers to use pantry more, as the current freshers are not using pantry as much as previous first years.Â
It was also thought it could be a good idea to cancel opening pantry for lunch in 0th or 9th week as revenue is often lower then.Â
Leah asked about having set dinner menus with more popular options. For instance burgers and pizza always go down well. Greg also suggested having more regular meals or themed nights - such as Mexican Monday or curry nights.Â
Charlotte suggested cutting down on backshift hours, or even considering having just one person at times. Similarly have a cap on how many hours people can claim for making pantry dinner.Â
It was also recommended that the Foodies sell ice creams next term in pantry as this has worked very well in the past.Â
Bar
Greg reported that the bar has done well over the past couple of weeks, due to some successful bartys (is that how you spell them?!:)) and a big open mic night. It was also reported that Old Rosie is selling very well as is the whisky.Â
Other ideas for ways to increase revenue were discussed including having bar stash and fortnightly quizzes.Â
Leah asked if Greg was thinking about providing any drinks for Torpids - it was thought that it would probably not be worth the hassle.Â
Ways to increase the number of freshers going to the bar was also discussed, such as having a freshers discount night or a song request night for freshers.Â
Charlotte suggested it could be good to have a timetable accessible of bar events.Â
Jamie suggested it would be good to promote the bar menu a bit more and make it more visible.Â
