Minutes
CoronavirusÂ
Andi raises the idea of setting up a spreadsheet for the jcr which people can fill in if they get corona or have to go into self-isolation. This information is spreading through word of mouth at the minute, and especially as people have tutes on some staircases, the lack of central knowledge is causing more anxiety than is perhaps necessary.Â
Millie agrees - even if people live in Jowett, they don’t know what’s happening on main site.Â
Cerian says this won’t be a fool proof system, but is worth setting up even to catch 9/10 cases.Â
Andi says as household bubbles form, and people settle into term, it’ll be even more helpful to have somewhere to check what’s true and what’s rumours.Â
Millie agrees to set up a spreadsheet, separate from the NHS and college system.Â
Shreya suggests re-iterating university guidance on coronavirus, as it’s becoming more relevant as term begins and people have been asking questions.Â
Wi-fi in Jowett
Andi says that the wi-fi in Jowett isn’t very good, and there’s not really anywhere for residents to work/take video calls but in their rooms at the moment. She asks if the jcr can do anything about this.Â
Millie says she’ll email college to let them know about this.Â
In-person tutorials
Andi asks if it’s possible for people to opt out of doing in-person tutorials if they don’t feel comfortable with them.Â
Cerian says that depends on department.Â
Andi thinks this is something we should raise; if certain households have to self-isolate, and tutors’ offices are on those staircases, this could become a real problem.
