Pantry financesÂ
Maddy wants to separate pantry finances from jcr finances to make it easier to monitor pantry’s costs. Everyone agrees this makes sense. Conor isn’t here, but she’ll work it out with him.Â
Charity event in bar
Fonie and Nathalie have seen on the charity rep group chat that other colleges hold charity open mic nights and want to do the same here. It would raise money and Geheris wants more events in the bar. They considered selling tickets or adding a donation on top of the normal drink prices. Cerian suggests a charity drink with all proceeds going to charity - femsoc did this. They’ll talk to Geheris about it.Â
LGBT flagÂ
Cerian says the LGBT flag will be going up for pride month this year. However, an honorary fellow has died, and tradition is to fly the flag at half mast for three days in respect. If it’s not up, this is why - it’ll go up again after.Â
Welfare weekÂ
Leoni explains that she and Leyla have a plan of events for every day of the week, but now need to gauge interest and prices.Â
Planned events include:
- a welfare walk on Sunday
- face masks and snacks with women’s reps
- an art night, with wine and watercolours plus magazine makingÂ
- a charity-run mental health workshop followed by donuts in the ocrÂ
- a bar karaoke night
- a sing-along film nightÂ
- late night pantry baking/jcr bake-off
Maddy agrees to help with pantry baking, and recommends talking to the dean quickly.Â
Leoni asks if there needs to be a welfare tea every day, Cerian says it’s up to the Dr WHOs. Leoni says there’ll definitely be more than usual, they’ll look at the money left over before deciding if there’ll be one every day.Â
Anyone who wants to help/run an event should talk to Leoni or Leyla! :)
Bop decorationsÂ
The head gardener spoke to Michael about the confetti and tinsel used for bops. He still finds bits of tinsel in the compost from years ago. He suggested using biodegradable or recyclable decorations instead, or at least something easier to pick up.Â
Leah agrees that the last bop showed that confetti and tinsel is not a good idea. They’ll look at changing for the next bop.Â
Food in the libraryÂ
The library is very unhappy about the food they’re finding - there’s been leaky foods in the bins. Cerian asks if everyone could try to stop this happening so squash and biscuits doesn’t get cancelled again :(
