    Minutes

    Annie welcomed the meeting.

Annie asked the Committee if they wanted to run something in the JCR for the US election, noting the precedent set by the British election.

Matt asked what time results would come in. Annie suggested 2am.

Rivka noted it had been spoken about in Left Caucus where it was suggested that there's not much to show other than results slowly coming out; James responded this was true of all elections, and he imagines there would be a contingent of genuinely interested people.

Richard offered the point of information that the Telegraph reckons the announcement will be at 4am.

James noted that Hugo would need permission from RQ to open the bar later; Richard responded alcohol could be served in the JCR.

Annie asked if there were other things that could be done or sold; James wants to sell Trump masks. Hubert noted that would cease to be funny very quickly should the election go badly; Richard responded that “everything would cease to be funny.”

Annie told the Committee she would check with RQ.

Ste told people to submit information to Cealach, noting the importance of successors to JCR offices, and emphasising this as part of their mandate as an Officer. Annie noted that ideally all positions will be contested.

Richard asked about white poppies; Ste said he'd root around the office, but no more need to be bought.

Ele told the Committee that she'd found a person to do a massage workshop who said there was no real limit on the number of people. She asked for £50 to pay for this.

Annie asked when it would be; Ele responded it would be Thursday of 5th. James suggested it was likely money would be asked for up front so asked if it would be valuable to gauge interest.

    Committee passes £50.

Annie told Hugo (who arrived late!) about the conversation regarding the US election. Annie said that some info would be coming out from 2 with an announcement at 4.

Hugo said we could have a table in the JCR selling drinks. Hugo said he'd speak to RQ.

Annie encouraged people to keep doing events, noting the quality of the queer cabaret and the veggie pledge drive.

    The meeting was adjourned.
