We will now be sending out weekly updates on the Sunday of every week. These are mainly to summarise the articles that are published on the website weekly.
However emailing jcr.webmaster@balliol.ox.ac.uk with the subject Weekly Update and a title, a teaser and maybe even a link will let your update get sent out to the JCR mailing list as well.
As you can tell from the below BalliolTOOT is now setup. We will be entering a testing phase. So feel free to join the limited first subscriber run!
As part of the Balliol JCR IT Policy roadmap, we are starting preliminary research into hosting a Balliol JCR Mastodon Instance.

This is just a post to highlight how the JCR promotes openness and equality.
The JCR discourages the use of non-proprietary file formats. For a really great article by Richard Stallman on why your shouldn't send word attachments see here. Feel free to remind your tutors of this!
We also encourage the use of free software. This helps JCR members as it runs much better, especially on older hardware. This is also good for the environment.
The Gallery has now left it's beta testing phase and is now live. It would be great if people could upload pictures of their rooms when they come back from their vacations.
